Economic Rise or Debt Rise?
To the President, Mr. Marcos Jr., I hope this letter finds you well. I want to express my heartfelt hopes for the future of our beloved nation.
As I was scrolling on a social media app, an article catched my attention and it was about the decrease of your approval rating together with the Vice President. And this circumstance has made me even more concerned about the Philippines' future. I hope you will carry out your duties as President of the country. The betterment of the country depends on your action and decisions.
It also catched my interest because of our country's ongoing debt rise. It is highly disturbing, especially given Senator Dela Rosa's reaction, "Utang lang 'yan, kayang kaya' yan." When will the government officials wake up? A debt is a debt and is not just a debt.
Another issue that is concerning is the continuous corruption that is occurring in our country. This issue must be solved as soon as possible. The country is facing a lot of challenges that needs funds from the government. But the officials are just using the funds for their own good. Imagine the growth of the economy if the officials will just act upon their responsibilities and spend the funds on solving problems such as poverty.
Lastly, as a student, of course education is part of my concerns as a citizen. I hope that during your administration you will open a lot of opportunities to the youth of the Philippines. A part of the improvement that I want to see is the increase of budget that is solely for education. But I read an article that shows the budget cut for various universities. That's why in the following years, I expect an improvement in the educational sector of the country.
Your obligations as President are significant, and I trust you will fulfill the promises you made to Filipino citizens during the election. It is critical that you continue to be committed to the principles of justice, democracy, and the well-being of all our citizens.
Thank you for your service to our country, and I look forward to witnessing the positive changes. I hope that you will listen to the concerns of the Filipino Citizens, as we are the true heart of the country.
